Hello River Park Community! As a member of the Ridgway Community Garden Steering Committee, I am reaching out to all River Park residents, to let you know what is happening with the garden.

The Steering Committee for the garden has been hard at work for the last year preparing to open the garden this April! Many of you have seen the new deer fencing around the property at Green Street.

Currently, we are gathering names of folks who MIGHT be interested in renting a growing bed this Spring. We are offering the following sizes to begin our new season.

4 foot by 10 foot beds will run $50 for the entire season…April to October

4 foot by 20 foot beds will run $80

Please note: This is all independent gardening-meaning what you garden will be yours to harvest.  Gardeners will be responsible for watering and up keeping their own garden beds (water is provided on site).
There will be monthly gardening classes offered…right in the garden! We will be hosting an informational meeting later in early Spring to provide more information.

So, IF YOU MIGHT be interested in a bed…(you don’t have to commit yet), please let me know. This will help us to plan for the number of beds we will build in 2019. These will be all raised beds, built out of pine 2” by 12” on edge. These will be designed and built by the HIGH SCHOOL students! All soil will be brought in, so growing will be easy and productive.

IF you are interested in the possibility of renting a bed, please let me know before February 10th. Or, if you have more questions, please send me an email or call me at the number below. Otherwise, there is NO need to respond to this email.
